I have the 3 Anagram cds (Billberg, Bäcklund and the Gullin one). Bengt Hallberg, Nils Lindberg, Bengt-Arne Wallin, Jan Allan, Rolf Blomqvist, etc etc.... A good intro to this jazz is the boxes "Svensk JazzHistoria" on Caprice Records.
I like West Coast Jazz and this is like West Coast in the North !!!westcoastjazzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10418658370713916960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6853772569125614798.post-50955899821302319492017-01-24T07:48:48.538-08:002017-01-24T07:48:48.538-08:00Dear David,

Part of the source material came from Gunnar Lindquist before he died. Various cassettes and reel to reel tapes I used were less than pristine. I was particularlr interested in getting out examples which may not have been suitable for the limited length of LPS The Bäcklund CD for example includes a breathless 17.16 minutes of "I ve Seen" Gunnar Lindquist by the way also made the futuristic LP " Orangatang". There was in the Sixties an important jazz scene in Sweden with presence of Don Cherry and guys passing through but leaving their like Brian Trentham, Albert Ayler and many more As well as important local contributors to modern music like Gilbert Holmström and Christer Boustedt to name to more of my favourites. They are another story

David Reid Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
