That version does not include the profanity. Honestly, I hope that Stockdale got his wires crossed, and that this version is the one that actually occurred--in the 1940's. Somehow, thinking of Jimmy Dorsey getting booed as he was three months away from death has always been unsettling. He must have looked ill by that point, and I can't picture an audience being that cruel. Thanks for a ray of hope in respect to the timing of this "misadventure."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
